Decided to start this blog as a companion piece to my Zenfolio gallery. A place to announce new stuff at the gallery, to talk about different pictures, about equipment, about shooting, and about anything else on my mind.

About Me

Rodney Boles: In my day job, I'm a Software Engineer working on Enterprise Ethernet Switches. In my night and weekend job, I'm a father to two wonderful kids. Somewhere in all that, I manage to enjoy photography as a serious hobby, ride my bike, go on hikes, watch a lot of sports, and drink my share of beer. I use a Nikon system - D300, 17-55mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8, 18-200mm, Tokina 12-24mm, SB-600 Speedlight, various odds and ends like my 1.7x TC - and do my digital darkroom on one of the last PowerMacs produced and a couple of Cinema Displays. I've gone round and round over the years on software. Currently I'm using Apple's Aperture, and, where needed, Adobe Photoshop CS2. HDRs use Photomatix. I carry my gear around in a Domke F2 bag or a Kata R-103 pack.
